Praetor is able to directly accommodate the new RBL arrangement since it separates the normal DNS queries for outbound mail transmission from those made to the RBL DNS server for checking inbound email. For outbound messages to be transmitted, Praetor uses the DNS server IP address(es) that you see listed on the main System tab page of the administration program. For RBL checks, however, Praetor uses the native DNS servers set up for the Windows OS in Control Panel.
If Praetor is to make the query directly to the MAPS DNS server, you will need to have the Praetor machine's IP address registered with MAPS. You will also need to put the MAPS DNS servers' IP addresses in the Control Panel applet for Network, under the properties for the TCP/IP protocol as shown in the above screenshot.
The final setting is on the System tab, within the RBL group box.
Within the text field, make sure you enter the domain name of the RBL DNS server that will be used to construct a proper RBL query.
